Delicioso Samay Baji...!

My loving sister made Samay Baji for us during our Nepal Holidays. Samay Baji is one of the Newari dishes which is popular and mostly eaten at festivals. The aroma is still swirling around and tastes still gives watering mouth. Thanks Di...!

A walk with my baby !

My little man and I went for walking. It was unplanned but was exciting to both of us. Mr. Junior was quite excited to be out of the house. He was flying higher and was singing his fav rhymes, not forgetting his song, "baby baby.." by Justin Bieber. After walking for about half an hour we went to "Popular", a book store in Toa Payoh. My boy was so overwhelmed to be there again and he ran towards his fav. stall with the Thomas books which havn't bought even a single one for him. Today also we went straight to the colors section and bought water color for him. We bought Barney's Pistachio edition as requested by my boy and came back home to Mr. Dad.

First time 3 minus Dad outing....!

Holiday fever has been all around. It didn't spare us too though my boy is starting his school next year only. For this season it need not to be weekend to plan for outings. We planned for a tiny group outing with cousins. It was just "moms-n-kids" outing since it's Wednesday. My boy was very excited to see me packing up his bags with swimming stuffs. Kept crying "Haami swimming jaane......" repeatedly. He was so very excited to make it a next day. This crazy excitement woke him up very early morning, didn't have his breakfast just a cup of milk. Finally it's our departure time. Mr. Dad dropped us to our meeting venue. We moved out on time with full of excitement. For me it was a mixture of excitement and fear. Fear is that it was our first outing in a group without Mr.D.
It was wildly wet "Wild Wild Wet". We got at 3 p.m., perfect timing thanks to didis. My boy was sleeping when we reached there. Though felt relaxed for next couple of hours, I kept checking in between if he wakes up. We had MOMO for snacks and we really enjoyed it since all the kids love it. After almost two hours my little man woke up. When he was all set to go playing water suddenly he started scaring of water. Its really disappointing he din't play water on the day instead cried whenever I took him forcefully to some places. Its funny though. At last we ended up having dinner at a Food Court and came back home. Thanks to Little Man for being nice to me as if he understood I can't handle his tantrums when his Dad is not with us.

Happy homely weekend

As always I enjoy spending time with my darlings whether its at home or outside. These days we seldom go for outing since my big daddy and has been busy. I start planning for making enjoyable weekend at home from thursdays. Have planned to play with my son and keep him happy for his whole day home stay. We play with his colors. He loves to play with them. One after another color he keeps asking me to pour it on his color palate. Thank god my baby doesn't get tired of staying at home. Otherwise I would have to take him out by myself. I prepare delicious snacks with grilled chicken wings which he loves..... The days end with yummy dinner together with drinks.... my baby loves saying cheers..... chers.....

Buddha Jayanti (Vesak Day) !

The day Buddha was born...!

Dad n son offering Holy water to Gautam Buddha !

We visited Gumba (Stupa) on Buddha Jayanti (Vesak Day). We took a bus upto Geylang and after 5-7 minutes walk we reached there. Many people already gathered in the place and we joined them. The place to lit the candle was decorated so well that my junior man enjoyed the colors of candles and flowers. He loves to pray with candle (Aarati). Then we got inside the stupa where 5 faces of buddha were displayed and all the visitors kneeled down before the Lords making their prayers. We also did and most pleasantly my little man did it enjoying it. He looks so so cute while doing his prayers.
After lunch break we went to visit Lama and Head Lama or Guru (I don't remember how he is addressed) who blessed us with their enchants. Mr. Junior also enjoyed it and he bowed his head to them so perfectly they too enjoyed his praying style.

With my little man lighting candle !

Weekends at Home...!

Another weekend at home. Me, my busy bee husband and our lovely boy. Am watching American Idol X to kill my time. Staying idle at home disturbs me, always makes me feel blue. My baby is sleeping otherwise some cartoon channel or nursery rhymes would popping out on my tv. Days, months n years finally Mr. D's study will finish in one month. Wish he could top the class. He is trying hard and me too (LOL).

This is the third week we stay home in weekends. Today am preparing special dish for my husband. Just googled the recipe and making it. Its chicken biryani. Hope he will like it coz he loves varieties of foods in weekends. My baby loves it too. He cudn't stop to have with both of his hands last time we had it at Gayatri's (one of the indian restaurants).

Overwhelming October...!

REady to have Birthday Blessing !

September was yet to finish and I were excitedly waiting for October because its my birth month. I was born on 10th October. I always wait for this day, for birthday wishes, for gifts and for the tremendous love my family and friends shower to me on the day. Growing a year more older sometimes makes me feel older but the love and blessings bestowed upon me diminishes this odd feeling. As always I received the calls from my loved ones, friends and families and celebrated my day with puja and a cake.

Not only my birthday but this month brings the joy and happiness with one of the greatest festivals, Dashain for all. The cold mornings, waking up in midnights and doing Nawaratri Pujas, eating varieties of foods together with all the family members are few things we do during the festival. This year also we waited for the it to come and celebrated in a great way. Though we celebrate Dashain in a different way here, I tried to do all the important things from shoppings to cleanings and from pujas to feasts. Haven't left a space for me to feel sorry later. Few weeks ahead of Dashain we went to Mustafa, Little India to OGOP and Vivocity for shopping. I hate last hour shoppings but had to visit our local groccery just a day before for 'Dahi' which I forgot to bring from Mustafa.
Most precisely, this year I visited the Durga Temple here. This is my third Dashain here but could visit the temple only this dashain. I lit 108 lights (here it is know as 'jyoti') during the main days of the festival. I took my baby along. He also enjoyed a lot. The festive atmosphere spiced up our excitement.
The biggest day falls on the 10th day with Tika. This year it was on 17th of the month. Woke up earlier that usual and prepared everything before the auspicious time of having tika. As Panditji said it starts from 9:55 a.m. till 11:55 a.m., we finished our puja within the time. Baby was very delighted to have tika. Later Amrit bhai and Kumar bhai's family joined us. We began to exchange Dashain greetings followed by blessing the younger ones with tika and dakshina. Then we had dinner together.
Later all of us departed to visit the relatives and friends. We collected blessings from everyone we need to have. We ended up the day in Annapurna block after having baby blessed from Amrit dai and Durga dai.
We celebrated Dashain in a great way as always. And now we are preparing and waiting for Deepawali....!
